Mobile Trailer Mechanic job responsibilities include:

• Examine trailers to determine type and extent of required repairs
• Utilize necessary hand tools to complete assigned work
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes
• Examine, rotate, and replace tires
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors
• Follow checklists to ensure all required parts are examined and tasks performed
• Plan work procedures, using charts, technical manuals, and experience
• Communicate with driver to obtain descriptions of problems. Verify problems by checking the DVIR and sign off on repairs when completed
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services on trailers
• Repair or replace shock absorbers
• Complies with all safety, DOT and OSHA guidelines
• Ability to work well independently
• Ability to interact with customers

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• CDL-B license preferred
• Minimum five (5) years recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience preferred (training can be provided)
• Must have own hand tools
• Basic computer skills
• Good driving record & proven work history
• Must be able to work in extreme heat & cold temperatures

Experience:

• Computer Diagnostic: 1 year (Required)

• Mobile Tech: 1 year (Preferred)

• Diesel Mechanic: 5 years (Required)
